Respiratory Problems

Speleotherapists have worked successfully with patients who are suffering from lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), smoking-related coughs, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, colds, influenza, and other respiratory tract disorders. In Russia and Eastern Europe, where Salt Rooms are commonly used, the benefits of the natural dry salt aerosol of the Speleochamber has been shown to bring relief to these patients.

Breathewell recommends that patients suffering from respiratory problems spend an hour in the Salt Room twice a week. Speleotherapists recommend an initial treatment course of 4 trial sessions in order to check the effect. If it is found to be beneficial, patients sign up for a course of 14 one-hour treatments, ideally twice a week with a 48-hour break between sessions, to see optimum results.
