Asthma

Speleotherapists have had a 90% success rate in treating pediatric asthma. Many of the children who have undergone Speleotherapy have almost stopped using inhalers after a year or two of regular therapy, reducing their dependency on cortisones and steroids, and fewer asthma attacks and hospitalizations.

Of course, there are different degrees of asthma, and it is easier to treat young children because their immune system is still adaptable and can be strengthened. However, older people also claim that they use fewer inhalers after Speleotherapy treatment.

Breathewell recommends that patients suffering from asthma spend an hour in the Salt Room twice a week. Speleotherapists recommend an initial treatment course of 4 trial sessions in order to check the effect. If it is found to be beneficial, patients sign up for a course of 14 one-hour treatments, ideally twice a week with a 48-hour break between sessions, to see optimum results.
